FAQ

Are hot air balloons safe?

Totally! Hot air balloons are one of the safest forms of flying, and Magic Horizon Balloon pilots adhere to rigorous safety standards to make sure your flight is as secure as possible.

When do you fly?

We offer sunrise balloon rides every day, year-round (weather dependent). High season is from September to April.

How long is the whole ballooning experience?

The entire experience is from 2½ to 3 hours, including launch, minimum forty minutes flight, refreshments and transport.

How many people can be in a balloon basket at one time?

A group flight will operate with a minimum of 4 to a maximum of 28 people, depending on the season. Our balloons have baskets of different size. However, if you are interested in a private flight, we can organize that easily.

Is there a risk of motion sickness while airborne in the balloon?

No. Once the balloon leaves the ground, it is moving at the same speed as the environment. There is no feeling of motion. The sensation of ballooning, is the absence of sensation. Nothing but a smooth, gentle ride.
You don’t have to worry if you are scared of heights either, unlike standing on top of a tall building, there’s no relative perspective when looking at the ground from the basket of a hot air balloon. Flyers rarely experience vertigo.

How high will we go?

Around 1,000ft to 2,000ft (305m–610m)– although this depends on airspace restrictions and conditions on the day. Even at a few hundred feet the views are incredible and over 1,000ft you can start to see for miles around.

As hot air balloons cannot be steered, each flight is a unique beautiful experience.
